Who is in-home support for?
Adults with disability who live in their own home, or with family, and need a hand with daily life.
- A few hours: a morning routine
- Most of the day: 7am to 9pm
- Around the clock: day and night
We can staff all of them.
What can a visit include?
Each visit is planned around your routine. It can include:
- Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and toileting.
- Meals: planning, shopping and cooking together.
- Household tasks: cleaning, laundry and keeping the home in order.
- Appointments and transport: getting to the doctor, therapy or the shops.
- Getting out: community activities, outings and seeing friends.
- Daily living skills: building the confidence to do more for yourself.
Who will support you?
The same faces. We build a small regular team around each person, and they cover every shift.
You meet them first. We introduce every new worker before their first visit.
Cover when plans change. If your regular worker can’t come, we send someone else from your team.
Checked and trained. Every Janan Care support worker has NDIS Worker Screening clearance, a Working With Children Check and our training before their first shift.
How is in-home support funded?
In-home support is usually paid from the Core budget in the NDIS plan, under Assistance with Daily Life. Your plan sets how many hours are funded.
If you need more hours than the plan funds, your support coordinator can ask the NDIA for a plan change, with evidence such as an occupational therapist’s assessment.

How does in-home support start?
- First conversation. Call or send a message. We reply to every enquiry within 24 hours. We ask about your area, the plan and the hours you need.
- Home visit. We meet you and your family, go through the NDIS plan, and learn your routines and what matters to you.
- Service agreement and care plan. Plain-English terms for the supports and hours, then a care plan and home risk assessment, written before any visit starts.
- Worker matching. We match support workers on location, skills, gender, language and culture.
- First visits. We check in after each new worker’s first visit, and again about two weeks in.

Do I pay Janan Care anything?
No. The NDIS covers all our fees. We charge nothing outside your plan.
Can I start with a few hours and add more later?
Yes. You can start with a few hours a week and add more as their needs and plan change, up to 24/7 support at home.
Can I ask for a female or male support worker?
Yes. Tell us in the first conversation, and we match workers to you with that in mind.
Is in-home support the same as SIL?
No. In-home support is help at set times, paid from the Core budget. SIL is funded separately, from a roster of care, and the support is often shared with housemates. We provide both.
Do you provide in-home support in Blacktown?
Yes. We support people across Blacktown and nine more council areas in Western and South Western Sydney. See NDIS provider in Blacktown.
